Qatar Charity is a Doha-Qatar based International Non-Governmental Organization. Since the inception of QC services in Pakistan early 1992, the organization reflect its greater scope of work to respond to extreme poverty and the Government’s priorities. QC through its field offices enabled itself to strategically address the developmental and humanitarian needs at the very local level. QC is undertaking programmes associated with the socio-economic development of the Country. The projects are categorized under six programme pillars: Youth Leadership & Social Protection, Education, Provision of WASH, Health (with a focus on MNCH), Economic Empowerment & Sustainable Livelihood (EESL) and Disaster Response & Preparedness (DRP), along with its Seasonal Programs like meat distribution, Ramadhan program etc. In Pakistan, Qatar Charity is having its country office in Islamabad and field offices in KPK, Punjab, Sindh, Baluchistan, and AJK.

1.     Job Summary:

The Health Coordinator position will be based in Lahore and would be expected to coordinate Mobile health clinics interventions and activities of Qatar Charity in Pakistan in collaboration with Al khidmat foundation funded by QFFD.

The position will be required to take lead, and work in collaboration with the program head and AKFP to contribute to the QC’s vision and QFFD protocols.

The health coordinator serves as the principal support focal point to the program team to lead the Mobile health clinics program-related issues in the context of both regular development projects and humanitarian response.

2.     Job Responsibilities:

a. Technical:        

  • The position will be responsible for Mobile Health & Nutrition-related coordination/representation of QC at relevant forums/collaboration with UN entities, working with government and other organizations with a similar mandate of working in the health & nutrition sector.
  •  The position will be responsible for providing support to the AKFP team in developing high-quality health & nutrition-related interventions, and other humanitarian documents required for reporting and implementation as per guidelines of QFFD and QC.
  • The position will provide technical-backstopping support in developing/reviewing health & nutrition-related training modules, capacity-building initiatives, and designing training & curriculums.
  •  To provide technical support in carrying out rapid need assessments (RNA) & reports related to health & nutrition needs in both development and humanitarian context during the mobile health clinic screenings in coordination with AKFP.
  • Represent Qatar Charity in several health & nutrition technical working groups and UN coordination meetings regarding flood/other emergencies, both at National, Provincial (HUBs), District levels etc.
  • Provide technical backstopping support in procurement of basic medical equipment, medical supplies, consumables, pharmaceuticals, etc as required for the mobile health clinics as per procedures of QC. 
  • Provide support in designing health & nutrition-related IEC materials etc.
  • Collect, review, analyses, and report mobile health clinic project data for reporting documentation as per protocols of QFFD as per agreement with AKFP.
  • Contribution to the health program integration with Nutrition, FSL, WASH, and other cross-cutting issues with the aim of ensuring integrated and holistic approaches.     

b.     Management: Team Management, Database

c.      Compliance and feedback: Familiar with donor & QC compliance & Feedback mechanism

3.     Job Requirements:

a.     Education: MBBS doctor preferrable with master’s in public health or equivalent qualification                                                                 

b.     Relevant experience: 04 years of working experience with at least 2 years as administrative manager for health-related activities     

c.      Computer knowledge      MS Office (Word, Excel PowerPoint), Outlook

4.     Skills and Personality:

a.     Communication skills    Must have a communication skill

b.     Personality description    Courteous, Responsible, Integral, Punctual, Trustworthy

c.      Technical skills: Prior experience in health programming and emergencies. Experience working in nutrition programs will be an added benefit Knowledge of Admin & Log functions (Payment Request, Procurement, Vehicle arrangement, Monitors commodity etc.)

5.     Preferences

  • Strong public health background with demonstrated ability in health and scaling up nutrition program management preferrable in medium-large scale health programs with INGOs and UN agencies.
  • Prior experience in health programming and emergencies.
  • Excellent coordination and interpersonal skills
  •  Able to analyse and summarize complex technical and contextual data information
  • Ability to interact with all levels of staff professionally, reflecting excellent interpersonal skills.
