Job Description:

The Project Coordinator will lead and oversee the Child Protection (CP) Van project, ensuring effective planning, implementation, and coordination with SWD, partners, and stakeholders. The role involves supervising field teams, monitoring progress, ensuring quality service delivery, and supporting sustainability and government integration efforts.


Key Responsibilties:


1. Program Leadership and Coordination :



  • Work under the direct supervision of Program Manager PMU SWD-MDs.

  • Provide overall strategic and operational leadership for the CP van project.

  • Ensure effective coordination between SWD, implementing partners, CPCs, and other stakeholders for successful project delivery.

  • Facilitate regular planning and progress review meetings with district teams and SWD.

  • Ensure the effective implementation of the full package of prevention services delivered through CP vans


2. Project Planning, Monitoring, and Evaluation :



  • Develop and oversee workplans, activity calendars, and operational frameworks aligned with the project’s objectives.

  • Monitor field implementation to ensure quality, efficiency, and alignment with set targets and indicators.

  • Ensure documentation pf progress, success stories, lessons learned, and impact indicators for reporting and scale-up.

  • Support third-party evaluations and internal reviews.


3. Supervision and Staff Management: 



  • Supervise and support project teams including PMU and field staff.

  • Guide capacity development plans and conduct periodic performance reviews.

  • Ensure staff well-being and adherence to child safeguarding and ethical protocols


4. Government Engagement and Sustainability Planning :



  • Work closely with SWD for institutionalization of the CP Van model within the government systems.

  • Draft sustainability frameworks, budgetary requirements, and integration plans for government ownership post-project.

  • Prepare policy briefs, presentations, and reports for SWD and development partners.


5. Reporting and Documentation :



  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual narrative and financial progress reports.

  • Ensure timely submission of donor-required documentation and compliance with reporting standards.


Required Qualification :



  • Master’s degree in social work, Psychology, Development Studies, Public Policy, or related field.


Required Experience :



  • Minimum 5 – 8 years of experience in child protection/social development programming or social service delivery, with at least 2 years in a senior coordination or leadership role.


Required Skills :



  • Proven experience managing mobile outreach or community-based programming in conflict or hard-to-reach areas.

  • Experience working with government departments, especially Social Welfare or Local Government, is a strong asset.

  • Demonstrated capacity to build partnerships, manage teams, and supervise multi-component programs.

  • Knowledge of key child protection concepts including MHPSS, GBV, LSBE, and case management frameworks.

  • Strong planning, problem-solving, communication, and leadership skills.

  • Fluency in English, Urdu, and Pashto is an asset.

  • Maintain project records, beneficiary data, and evidence of impact.


Reporting Line :



  • The incumbent will be directly under the supervision of Project Manager PMU SWD-MDs and the overall supervision of Deputy Director SWD-MDs and, while the position will have a secondary reporting line to the UNICEF Child Protection Officer.
