Job Description: |
The Warehouse Manager is responsible for overseeing all aspects of warehouse operations, ensuring the efficient and effective receipt, storage, and dispatch of goods. This role involves optimizing warehouse layout, implementing robust inventory management systems, leading a team of warehouse personnel, and ensuring compliance with all safety and operational standards to maximize productivity and customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities:
I. Warehouse Operations & Management:

Strategic Planning: Develop and implement warehouse policies, procedures, and operational guidelines to ensure efficient, safe, and compliant warehouse operations.

Receiving & Dispatch: Oversee the meticulous receipt, inspection, and recording of all incoming goods. Ensure accurate and timely picking, packing, and dispatch of outgoing shipments to meet delivery schedules.

Inventory Control: Implement and maintain robust inventory management systems (WMS, ERP, or manual systems) to ensure accuracy of stock levels. Conduct regular cycle counts and physical inventories, reconciling discrepancies and investigating root causes. Optimize storage space utilization and layout.

Logistics Coordination: Liaise effectively with suppliers, transport companies, and internal departments (Sales, Procurement, Customer Service) to coordinate inbound and outbound logistics, track shipments, and resolve any delivery or logistics issues promptly.

Equipment & Maintenance: Ensure the proper functioning, maintenance, and safe operation of all warehouse equipment (e.g., forklifts, pallet jacks, shelving units). Arrange for necessary repairs and replacements.

Security & Safety: Implement and enforce strict safety protocols, security measures, and housekeeping standards within the warehouse. Conduct regular safety inspections, drills, and training to maintain a safe and healthy working environment, adhering to local regulations.
II. Team Leadership & Development:

Staff Management: Recruit, train, supervise, and appraise warehouse staff (including supervisors, pickers, packers, loaders, drivers).

Performance Management: Set clear performance targets, monitor productivity, and conduct regular performance reviews. Provide coaching, mentoring, and disciplinary actions as required.

Scheduling & Resource Allocation: Plan work rotas, assign tasks effectively, and manage staffing levels to optimize efficiency and minimize overtime while meeting operational demands.

Motivation & Engagement: Foster a positive and productive team environment, motivating staff and promoting teamwork to achieve departmental goals.
III. Reporting, Analysis & Improvement:

Data Analysis & Reporting: Prepare accurate and timely reports on key warehouse performance indicators (KPIs) such as inventory accuracy, order fulfillment rates, dispatch timeliness, and operational costs. Analyze data to identify trends, bottlenecks, and areas for improvement.

Process Improvement: Continuously seek opportunities to optimize warehouse processes, workflows, and resource utilization. Implement lean principles and new technologies to enhance efficiency and reduce operational costs.

Budget Management: Assist in preparing and managing the warehouse budget, controlling operational expenses, and identifying cost-saving initiatives.
IV. Compliance & Quality Assurance:

Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all warehouse operations comply with relevant local labor laws, health & safety regulations, and any industry-specific standards in Pakistan.

Quality Control: Implement procedures for quality checks on incoming and outgoing goods to minimize damage, errors, and ensure product integrity.
Qualifications:

Education: Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field. A Master's degree or relevant professional certifications (e.g., in supply chain management) is a strong plus.

Experience: Minimum 5-7 years of progressive experience in warehouse management, with at least 2-3 years in a managerial or supervisory role, preferably in a fast-paced environment handling diverse SKUs (e.g., retail, manufacturing, distribution).
Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) software.
- Strong command of Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel for data analysis).
- Knowledge of material handling equipment and their safe operation.
