General Position Summary
The Senior Program Officer – Implementation is responsible for leading and managing the execution of programmatic activities on the ground, ensuring high-quality implementation aligned with organizational goals, donor expectations, and stakeholder needs. This role provides technical oversight, coordinates with partners and field teams, and monitors performance to drive impact, scale, and sustainability of interventions.
Essential Job Function
Program Implementation & Management
- Lead the programmatic operational planning, roll-out, and daily execution of School Meal Program activities across targeted geographies.
- Develop and manage implementation work plans, timelines, and resource allocation to ensure effective and timely delivery.
- Ensure strict compliance with program design, donor guidelines (including the World Food Programme), and internal policies of the organization and the Government of Balochistan.
- Identify and resolve implementation challenges in real-time, with timely escalation of critical issues to leadership when needed.
- Ensure the successful delivery of the School Meal Program mandate in all targeted schools and communities, maintaining a strong focus on quality and coverage.
- Provide daily guidance and supervision to field teams, including Field Monitoring Teams, Social Organizers, and SBCC Officers, ensuring effective coordination and task execution.
- Prepare and submit timely, accurate, and high-quality reports on program activities, outputs, and progress in line with organizational and donor reporting requirements.
- Serve as a primary liaison with key stakeholders, representing the School Meal Program and SIF in coordination with the World Food Programme (WFP) and the Government of Balochistan, ensuring strong partnerships and alignment with broader sector goals.
Monitoring, Evaluation & Learning (MEL)
- Work closely with the MEL teams to track key performance indicators, program outputs, and outcomes.
- Use data and field insights to adapt implementation strategies and improve effectiveness.
- Contribute to learning agendas, evaluations, and impact assessments.
- Supervise teams in collecting of accurate data, compiling and timely reporting internal and external.
Stakeholder Engagement
- Coordinate with implementing partners, schools’ management, and community stakeholders.
- Represent the program in technical working groups, meetings, and field visits.
- Foster collaborative relationships to enhance program visibility.
Team Leadership & Capacity Building
- Supervise and mentor field staff, including program officers, coordinators, and community facilitators.
- Build capacity of implementing teams through training, coaching, and performance reviews.
- Promote a culture of accountability, learning, and results-orientation.
Reporting & Documentation
- Contribute to high-quality donor reports, internal briefings, and communication products.
- Document best practices, success stories, and lessons learned from the field.
- Support the development of new proposals and strategy documents as needed.
- Any task assigned by the supervisor.
