Job Description: |
The Social Mobilizer will be responsible for community engagement, beneficiary mobilization, awareness raising, and field-level implementation of project activities related to agriculture, livestock, kitchen gardening, and health & nutrition, and carry out mobilization process in the field at grass root level, identify and engage the target beneficiaries in the project activities for the smooth project implementation and the benefit of the communities.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Community Mobilization & Engagement
- Conduct field visits to identify, register, and verify project beneficiaries including smallholder farmers, women-headed households, and persons with disabilities (PwDs).
- Facilitate the formation/reactivation of Community Organizations (COs) and mobilize them for active participation throughout the project lifecycle.
- Sensitize communities about project objectives, eligibility criteria, entitlements, and schedules using participatory tools.
- Support to Agriculture, Livestock & Kitchen Gardening Activities
- Assist in organizing and conducting training sessions on climate-smart agriculture, kitchen gardening, and fodder production.
- Support in distribution of cash vouchers for seeds, seedlings, and gardening inputs.
- Maintain accurate lists and attendance records of participants and share timely updates with the Project Coordinator.
Health & Nutrition Awareness
- Conduct Social and Behaviour Change Communication (SBCC) sessions with caregivers, pregnant and lactating women, and adolescent girls on topics such as nutrition, vaccination, and hygiene practices.
- Screen children aged 6–59 months and women of reproductive age for malnutrition and facilitate referrals to health facilities.
- Community Feedback and Accountability
- Ensure the dissemination of MERF’s Complaint Response Mechanism (CRM) and collect feedback, suggestions, and complaints from community members in a respectful and confidential manner.
- Report community concerns to the Project Coordinator and ensure timely follow-up and resolution.
Documentation & Reporting
- Maintain daily records of field visits, activities conducted, beneficiary feedback, and referrals made.
- Support the monitoring and evaluation (MEAL) team in baseline/endline surveys, focus group discussions, and satisfaction assessments.
- Submit weekly field reports to the Project Coordinator.
- identifying case studies and success stories for reporting purposes, ensuring complete documentation and data management of all activities, beneficiaries, and relevant information, as well as performing any other tasks assigned by the Supervisor.
