Job Description:

Job Purpose

To work as psychologist in IRP project areas of Quetta, Loralai Chagai, Killa Abdullah, Killa Saifullah Harnai, Chaman Mastung and Noshki province of Balochistan (provide mental health services/counselling and need based initiatives complementing project activities) Counselling sessions in groups and individual regarding mental health/psychological disorders, learn to manage with stressful situations, manage their chronic illnesses, and tests and assessments that can help to diagnose conditions that a person thinks, feels, and behaves. Proper (patients/community) counselling for psychological disorders. Referral of unstable/complicated disorders (who need medications) to Psychiatrist in government hospitals (DHQ, Teaching hospitals).

Technical:

  • Possess a strong understanding of assessing GBV survivors' psychological needs through observation, interviews, and standardized psychometric tools.
  • Conduct individual and group mental health assessments with survivors and affected populations, including older persons and children.
  • Maintain a secure, confidential database of beneficiaries, case files, and psychological intervention records.
  • Design and implement community-based psychosocial support interventions, including structured group counseling sessions for survivors of GBV and their families.
  • Conduct emotional well-being assessments at the community level to identify psychosocial risks and protection concerns.
  • Train and mentor local staff and community facilitators on basic psychosocial support skills and emotional first aid to ensure sustainability beyond the project duration.
  • Implement project activities in line with GBV guiding principles and project-specific business processes and documentation.
  •   Produce timely and accurate technical reports, case studies, and success stories based on field activities.
  • Lead awareness sessions on psychosocial well-being and mental health in the context of GBV, targeting women, men, and adolescents.
  • Support the capacity building of community stakeholders, including teachers, religious leaders, and parents, on psychological consequences of GBV and appropriate support strategies.

Operational:

  • Development of work plans for timely implementation
  • Group/individuals sessions for clients on regularly basis.
  • Conduct client assessment in areas which are in need and affected by flood.
  • Identify and establish internal and external referral services for emotionally unstable clients
  • Providing counselling services through static clinic and  with mobile teams and Conduct sessions of counselling with patients
  • Report generation Record management – field visits, CO meetings.
  • Communication, Planning & Scheduling, Time, Stress & Conflict Management, Situation handling, Leadership Skills, People & team management

To cater to the higher living cost, IR Pakistan is transferring the exchange gain (PKR-GBP) on salary to staff at a prevailing conversion rate till further notice. Salaries are paid in local currency.
