Job Description: |
Job Purpose
The Lady Health Visitor (LHV) will be responsible for delivering targeted sessions on Sexual and Reproductive Health (SRH) in Women & Girls Friendly Spaces (WGFS) and selected community settings. The role involves increasing awareness and knowledge on topics such as contraception, menstrual hygiene, safe motherhood, family planning, and prevention of sexually transmitted infections (STIs). The LHV will ensure the sessions are informative, culturally sensitive, and empowering, helping women and girls make informed decisions about their health and well-being.
KEYACCOUNTABILITIES (Bullets Points)
Technical:
- Deliver accurate and interactive SRH sessions to women and adolescent girls.
- Share life-saving information about reproductive health, family planning methods, maternal care, and STIs.
- Create a safe space for questions, discussion, and feedback from participants.
- Tailor content for different age groups to ensure relevance and impact.
- Refer individuals with specific health needs to designated health providers.
Operational:
- Prepare pre- and post-session checklists, materials, and visual aids where required.
- Maintain clear records of number of sessions, attendance, and referrals.
- Submit regular summaries and support data entry where needed.
- Support in mobilization of participants and community outreach when required.
Organizational:
- Uphold IR’s code of conduct and zero tolerance for PSEAH.
- Promote gender equity, women’s rights, and reproductive health as part of wider community sensitization.
- Incorporate climate-conscious practices in field work and awareness (e.g., menstrual waste disposal).
- Ensure inclusion of vulnerable groups and remove access barriers to information.
- Support seasonal awareness campaigns and program visibility events.
