Job Description: |
Job Purpose
The incumbent will support implementation of GBV prevention activities through community outreach, engagement, and sensitization. They will raise awareness on GBV issues, promote positive behavioural change, encourage the use of Women & Girls Friendly Spaces (WGFS), and strengthen community understanding of available protection services. The mobilizers will ensure inclusive participation and community-driven approaches while addressing harmful practices, stigma, and barriers to accessing support.
The community mobilizers will works closely with the project team to organise community meetings, through engaging with relevant community members and relevant stakeholders to ensure that community members and stakeholders have a clear understanding of the project goals and objectives and gain acceptance and support from them.
KEYACCOUNTABILITIES (Bullets Points)
Technical:
- Mobilize communities around GBV prevention and response using culturally appropriate approaches.
- Conduct household visits, small group meetings, and awareness sessions in collaboration with WGFS staff.
- Link individuals to WGFS services and share key information about SRH, MHPSS, and referral systems.
- Identify and report protection concerns or emerging issues in coordination with the project team.
- Promote gender-equitable behaviors and challenge harmful social norms through consistent engagement.
- Facilitate & support other sectoral leads at ground in need identification / prioritization & verification of the project interventions / activities
- Close coordination with relevant stake holders working in the project targeted areas
- Regular follow up and monitoring of project activities & timely reporting of identified gaps with best possible solutions
- Facilitate in arrangement of IRP / donors visits to project areas.
- Extend support to MEAL / MIS / Communications staff for gathering desired information.
- CM will identify and proactively communicate any issues that might affect the project implementation and engage community support with guidance from line manager.
- Must be flexible and adapt changes quickly with the requirements of the changed situation
Operational:
- Maintain a clear mobilization plan and daily activity log.
- Preparation of weekly / monthly work plans against PMT (performance measured time frame) by ensuring timely completion of assigned tasks in stipulated time period.
- Maintenance of hard record that includes field visits reports & other relevant documentation.
- Extend support to MEAL / MIS / Communications staff for gathering desired information.
- Ensure proper documentation of events, feedback, and success stories.
- Support logistical and field arrangements for campaign events or service days.
- Participate in trainings and capacity building organized by the project.
Organizational:
- Ensure respectful and confidential communication with community members.
- In depth understanding of IR values and their demonstration in the field while working with communities.
- Abide by the IR zero tolerance policy towards bribery & corruption through sensitization / empowerment of communities on coping mechanism so that they can raise voice as & when feel inappropriate.
- Work closely with other project team members to ensure synergy and alignment.
- Assist in identification & documentation of organizational successes for show casing IR work
- Support seasonal programming and special campaigns in the assigned areas.
· Focused efforts also to be made for mainstreaming of marginalized groups i.e. persons with disability and old age, minorities, women & children etc in consultation & implementation of project activities at ground.
