Job Description: |
1. Job Purpose
The Field Coordinator is responsible for overseeing, coordinating, and supporting the implementation of all field-level activities across assigned project sites. The role ensures the effective mobilization of communities, execution of project activities, smooth coordination with stakeholders, and reporting of field operations. The position bridges the field and project management levels and ensures that all fieldwork aligns with the project plan, organizational policies, and donor requirements.
2. Key Responsibilities
A. Field Operations Management
- Supervise and support the daily implementation of project activities in the targeted areas.
- Coordinate activities with field team such as community mobilization, awareness sessions, WASH infrastructure rehabilitation, solid waste management, and chlorination drives.
- Prepare weekly field workplans and coordinate the deployment of field teams and its movement.
- Monitor field-level progress against implementation timelines, and proactively report delays or bottlenecks.
B. Community Engagement and Mobilization
- Ensure effective mobilization and engagement of communities, with attention to inclusion (women, elders, youth, minorities).
- Facilitate formation/revitalization of community-based structures, build their capacities on community management and engage them in planning, implementation, and supervision activities.
- Support the Social Mobilizers in conducting awareness sessions in the targeted project sites.
C. Coordination and Stakeholder Liaison
- Act as a primary field-level liaison with community leaders/elders, local government departments including Municipal Corporation, WSSP/WSSK, UN Agencies, and other INGOs/NGOs, operating in the targeted areas.
- Participate in field-level coordination meetings, workshops, and joint assessments.
D. Supervision and Team Management
- Provide day-to-day guidance and supervision to the field teams including Social Mobilizers, and others.
- Ensure team safety, discipline, and adherence to organizational policies including safeguarding and PSEA.
- Organize field briefings, debriefings, and internal coordination meetings.
E. Reporting, and Documentation
- Ensure proper use of field tools including activity tracking sheets, beneficiary registers, attendance sheets, etc.
- Contribute to weekly/monthly field progress reports including photos, success stories, and challenges.
- Support M&E teams in conducting spot checks, beneficiary interviews, satisfaction surveys, and other assessments.
3. Safeguarding and Code of Conduct
The Field Coordinator is expected to uphold and promote the organization’s safeguarding principles, child protection policy, PSEA commitments, and code of conduct. Any violation or misconduct must be immediately reported to senior management.
4. Skills & Competencies
- Strong leadership and team coordination skills.
- Sound knowledge of field implementation protocols, community dynamics, and participatory approaches.
- Strong written and verbal communication in English and Urdu; Pashto is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with mobile data collection tools (Kobo/ODK), MS Office, and basic reporting formats.
- Good understanding of humanitarian standards.
