The Deputy Chief Librarian will be posted in the NAJ (Central) Library Clifton.

The Deputy Chief Librarian will be responsible for planning, developing and administering the Center Services which include acquisition and processing of library resources such as book, periodicals, electronic and multimedia products; lending services and other administrative functions.

The Deputy Chief Librarian will provide complete support to the Chief Librarian in achieving the expected results

She/he will supervise the senior and junior library staff for effective contributions in the specific areas of their work.

Develop a system to procure effective print and electronic resources in the areas recommended by ZU Faculties. To this direction, develop a collection development policy which includes procurement and maintenance of library resources – books, periodicals, electronic resources, etc.

Constantly meet with the academic staff including students to obtain current subject interests and the project areas they are involved in.

Ensure identification of resources.

Maintain constant contact with publishers, vendors and other institutions to identify resources for procuring.

Aware the latest publications released by authentic publishers, vendors and other resource providers. Constantly browse through the reviewing periodicals to identify appropriate resources.

Constantly update the bibliographic database with new titles.

Identifying much used literature to procure according to the need

Identify skills of the staff and recommend Training programs to enhance skills and efficiency.
