Purpose of Division:
To design, plan, and implement DRR & Advocacy component interventions and frameworks
Job Purpose:
Reporting to the Programme Coordinator Sindh and working closely with the DRR & CC Specialist, the DRR Officer is responsible for providing expert advice to across Sindh. Responsible for implementation of DRR framework/strategies and ensure DRR department contributes to and is aligned with IR Pakistan’s strategic goals.
KEY WORKING RELATIONSHIPS
- Maintain a strong working relationship with Programme Coordinator Sindh offering timely and effective advisory service to sector leads and other staff in Sindh area on DRR & CC and Advocacy.
- Support country DRR & CC and Advocacy department on key projects and deliverables as required
SCOPE AND AUTHORITY
Scope of the Role
Directly reporting to the Programme Coordinator Sindh and working closely with DRR & CC and Advocacy departments, the DRR Officer will take an active role in the development, implementation, and regular review of the DRR and Advocacy strategy, work plans, and systems. The role will act as a key agent in providing strategic direction & support to the DRR & Advocacy function and will provide expert advice.
While maintaining complete independence and objectivity, the job holder would provide project and program level course correction and technical support.
Responsibility for Resources
Effective planning, assessments, and implementation of DRR & Advocacy components
Facilitation to resource persons for capacity building and training needs assessments
Verify the vulnerable beneficiaries / potential trainees and avoid overlaps and duplication of project activities
Regular periodic monitoring of field activities
Planning and Progress sharing
Coordination & linkages development with both internal and external stakeholders
KEYACCOUNTABILITIES

The following are the main responsibilities that the role holder will be accountable for:
- Identification of new DRR & Advocacy activities, interventions & support in proposals development
- Will contribute to the development of DRR / DRM & Advocacy strategy development
- Proper planning of DRR / DRM & Advocacy activities while consulting all concerned
- Ensure timely completion of all activities while adhering quality aspects
- Developing criteria, assessment tools, and finalize it after proper consultation with line manager
- Gauge impacts of all interventions & share report with all concerned
- Identify resource persons for capacity building components
- Identify gaps, avoid overlaps, and duplication of grants / project activities
- Remain good team player & foster team building
- Resolving problems during planning and implementation of project activities
- Ensure M&A application during program implementation
- Work with technical directions from the DRR & CC Specialist and Advocacy Specialists
- Develop and maintain working relations with local communities, GLAs, and NGOs / INGOs
- Keep the documentation on activities and project up to date
- Provide technical support to communities and field teams for the DRR / DRM & Advocacy during planning and implementation of activities
- Effectively usage of PRAs tools
- Prepare quality activity reports
- Any other tasks assigned by the line management
