A well reputed cosmetics manufacturer in Islamabad requires services of an experienced Chemist for Lab / Research & Development department.  The ideal candidate would have experience working with chemicals used in cosmetic applications in Home and Personal Healthcare and experience in cosmetic formulating and compounding of Home and Personal Healthcare products.

• Perform standard and customer-specific laboratory testing.
• Develop new test methods to simulate actual customer processes.
• Prepare reports as needed, both for internal and external customers.
• Ability to discuss products and processes with customers without disclosing confidential information.
• Maintain all laboratory notebook data and record keeping including study plans, spreadsheet, and troubleshooting related to formula development.
• Ability to assess product characteristics including measurements and specifications to determine product acceptance and stability.
• Prepare samples, standards, specifications, and manufacturing directives for scale up into manufacturing environments
• Prepare procedures as needed for laboratory processes.
• Calibrate, maintain, and troubleshoot laboratory instruments and equipment.
• Maintain a clean and safe work area.

Requirements:

• A Bachelor’s / Master’s Degree in Chemistry or Applied Chemistry required.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in a laboratory environment, developing cosmetics, personal care, home care, flavors, or related industries.
• Working knowledge of basic rheological models is preferred.
• Polymer applications experience preferred.
• Working knowledge of Analytical or Organic Chemistry.
• Possess an enabling attitude and be a problem solver.
• Ability to work with limited supervision.
